The Vibe Drive – Radiowave: Why You Need To Visit Namibia’s National Parks

It is no wonder Namibia is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, drawing visitors from around the world to its extraordinary landscapes. It’s raw, untamed beauty stretches from the fog-laced Atlantic edge of the Skeleton Coast to the vast, sculpted expanse of the Fish River Canyon – which stands among Africa’s great natural wonders.

Odile Gertze, radio host of The Vibe Drive on Radiowave, encourages listeners to experience the country’s extraordinary national parks firsthand, describing Namibia as a destination that rewards every journey with something unforgettable.

She highlights that Namibia is home to more than 22 national parks, including the world-renowned Etosha National Park – famous for the vast Etosha Pan, so large it can be seen from space. Further south, the immense Namib-Naukluft National Park reveals some of the planet’s oldest and most dramatic desert scenery, including the iconic red dunes of Sossusvlei.

Pictures of these must-visit locations often appear on postcards, capturing their breathtaking beauty, but Odile explained that seeing them in person is worth much more.

“Why look at a postcard when you can get in a car and travel there yourself?” she said. “Visiting national parks is not just a fun outing, it helps protect our environment because every entry fee supports wildlife conservation, safeguards natural habitats, uplifts communities, and boosts our economies.”
